Charcoal is limestone that brings its own contrast: silvery gray to lift a wall, deep charcoal to ground it. Spread evenly, split ashlar reads sleek and current; gathered low, the dark pieces add weight at the base. Mosaic, pavers, sills, lintels, mantels and hearths share the palette, so one stone can finish a whole house.
